Encore 4.6 Beta "The Singing Bee" uses Encore Gvox Forum
September 10, 2007
What a long road we’ve been on! Encore 4.6 for Mac ( Windows version will follow) has made it to the Beta testing stage of development. This road has been a long hard haul for Gvox because Encore has not had a significant upgrade in many years. The source code needed a thorough overhaul before we even got the chance to add the new features. But the haul has been worth every mile of code written.
Upon release of the first alpha, a very sketchy version, our team of testers had comments like: “ All I can say is WOW!” and “I'm the former VP of Passport & had quite a bit to do with Encore during its hayday and must say how extraordinarily impressed I am with what [the Gvox team has] done. Kudos to you all!! Not only have you improved Encore, but you have kept the FEEL of the old Encore - a feat that I wasn't sure could be done.” Comments like this have been of great encouragement to the Gvox team.
Yes, it has taken much more time than we initially thought but the result will be worth every long hour. Stay tuned for more on this.
In other news, Gvox has opened a public forum on our website. This will enable all Gvox product customers an opportunity to converse about our products and help each other to optimize their Gvox experience.
Encore has hit the big time again! The NBC television hit “The Singing Bee” is using Encore as their primary notation software. If you haven’t seen the show yet, it’s a contest for karaoke performers where the object of the show is to remember the lyrics of many different songs. Doc Powell, the music director, has decided to use Encore due to the overwhelming number of songs he must arrange for the show. Encore’s ease of use saves him and NBC time and money. We are very proud to be a part of this very fun show.
