MTD 3.5.5 template unavailable

Postby Denkster » Tue Nov 06, 2007 9:35 pm

According to the Help function of MTD 3.5.5, the option 'Template' should be available in the 'Choose Page Layout' window, which comes up after clicking the option 'New' from the 'File' menu, if the user has placed a file called 'template' in the folder where the program is installed.
Placing a file called 'template.enc' in the folder where Encore is installed works as described for Encore, but whatever file I place in the MTD Program folder (template.enc, template.mus, template), the described functionality did never show in MTD!
:(
Since this behavior of MTD is clearly contradicting the specified functionality, I believe it should be characterized as a bug?
I tried with Windows XP, full Administrator rights, on several machines.

What is going to happen with bugs like this?

kind regards
Eveline

Eveline, I seem to remember struggling with that issue too. I found a partial solution. It's possible to create a command-line startup for MTD which invokes the template when the program starts. It's not quite the same thing as you're looking but at least it means that the same template is always called up at startup.
