Opening files

Postby rougemont » Sun Dec 19, 2010 9:19 am

- Files are loosing data entered under function text, graphic menu (next time opened).
- opening file sometimes is not working: the file doesn't appear, one must first open "page setup" and modify default values for left, top, right and bottom!
- only one file, created under Musictime 3.5.3 has been able to maintain all the data
- page setup is working only with inches: no way to change to metric values
- when closing a file a message appear: APPCRASH, LoMidi32.dll_unloaded, code c0000005, exception 10001028

Were the misbehaving files created with this combination or do they come from somewhere else?
How about uploading one of those files and I'll see whether I can open it here.

You can use metric values.
This sets the measurement values to metric:
  1. In menu View, choose Show/Hide,
  2. near rulers, choose centimeters, click OK.
You don't need to have rulers on.

kind regards

For the metric, thank you Eveline (Denkster): it works!

For uploading a file (for polarbreeze) I have a problem: GVOX Forum refuse files with extensions .music,.doc.,.pdf and ... no extension ...
If I try to send a private message: same problem!

Thank you for your help!

I upload 2 zipped files:

Articulation n°24 p 58 Bb Maj.mus
in this file, all the values in Page Setup (left, top, right and bottom) has been conserved

Articulation n°24 p 58 DMaj.mus
in this file, the values in Page Setup for Right and Bottom have been lost and put to 0 (left and top have been conserved). All the values of the text "II-V7-I progressions" have lost too. Question: why!

Those files do open for me in Encore v5 (Mac). The margin settings, though, are lost. This does seem to be a BUG in MusicTime/Encore and I have seen it before. The page settings (ie margin settings and scale) do not survive when a file is moved between different versions of MusicTime/Encore. This bug has been reported and we're hopeful that GVOX will eventually fix it. In the meantime, it is unfortunately necessary to restore the page settings manually the first time you open the file, and then to re-save the file in order to preserve those settings.
