Drag/copy bug

Postby pasadera » Fri May 21, 2010 5:01 pm

I drag/copy a lot when I'm entering notes. For example, if I have a quarter note followed by a quarter note rest, I drag/copy the crotchet using the option key then convert it to a rest with a key stroke. Straightforward enough. However, when I drag copy a triad in the same voice on the higher part of the stave or above it, -three- rests are created, one hidden behind another. If the triad is on the lower part of the stave or below it, all three rests are superimposed. ,

Has this been mentioned before?

Kind regards.

BTW, I've just noticed that this bug goes back at least as far as (Mac) Encore 4.2.3..

Hi, p,

Well, of course, if we select a triad (in one voice) and use the R key to convert the notes to rests, we always get three rests (so far as I know). They may not always be distinctly visible, though.

Perhaps Encore should be smart enough to realize that we probably don't want that (since it is in general meaningless). I'm not sure that is a "bug".

This is not a creature of the drag-copy process, and does not depend on where, vertically, the notes are located (although that may affect whether the multiple rests are separately visible).

Best regards,

Doug
