I'd like to see Encore installer redirect users to install PDFCreator and make it as a default PDF PS, or EPS printer driver. And what! in FILE menu have a tab like "Export to PDF/EPS/JPG..."

Yes! i agree with you Matt XPS seems to replace EPS, PS and PDF, I tried several outputs usig XPS format, but they can not be imported through MS WORD or so, I am not sure- if Adobe Illustrator or InDesign would import that format , if so it would be really great!

XPS? You must be joking!
We are not going to jump into another MS dead trap, are we?

Even XP has one... I might have got that when updating to SP3 (or to IE7 or 8),
though I don't know what it is. Everyone can read pdf, but I have doubts about
this xps, it's the first time I've seen that.

Please do not go the dead end road MS wants you to get trapped in!
Forget XPS.
Use PDF, that is a real open format (ISO standardized and published for free access)
PDF Creator is a free open source program to create fully compatible PDF files in a very simple way, on Windows systems.
It supports encryption and many more features nd still is easy to use.

This doesn't seem to be free... not expensive, OK... but the current version (0.9.3) I had really for free, I think.

I just downloaded and installed 0.9.9 on Windows XP Home. No indication of any charge and works fine.

I do believe, but one panel has confused me. It says that download is starting, but if it wouldn't do I could request a "direct link" or select another "mirror".
In the middle of the page there is a large block which leads to a request to order and pay.

Now, Requesting though "direct link" has worked fine.

Huh? Looks free to me. I think you must have clicked on one of the other products on the page, ads from other suppliers, products which you do indeed have to pay for.
