Relegate swing playback % to a preference setting

I find that it gets in the way to be having the swing playback dialog coming up every time I want to invoke swing for a group of notes. Typically for a given piece, or perhaps all their pieces, the composer has in mind a particular swing amount and would intend to use that same setting all the time. To avoid the dialog popping up every time, I think it would be better to have the swing amount determined with a preference setting instead.

Imagine a score with two parts, that have different swing.

Likewise. If I have a swung piece with a tempo change, I usually apply a lower percentage of swing at the faster tempo.

And as a sideline request, how about adding a 'swing percent" field in Swing Playback (the Swing Setting dialog)? That would allow me to make precise adjustments more quickly.

I'm not sure I know which dialog you are speaking of. I think it is this one (seen in Encore/Windows 5.0.2):

I see the Mac version has a slider with an indication but no way to set it numerically:

Too touchy-feely for me. (We have the same affliction on the "gain" control in Encore/Windows. And it only has a "furtive" indication.)

Yes, I was pointing out that the Mac swing dialog has no means for setting the swing value numerically.

Sorry I was not specific. I keep forgetting how many differences there are between Encore's Mac and Windows interface.
