GVOX Online Support Center not working?

Specifically about MusicTime Deluxe notation software

GVOX Online Support Center not working?

I've tried to signing into the GVOX Online Support Center today and all I get is a blank page with the message, "Data Not Available." Sorry for posting here but I can't find any other link. Has the page been moved or discontinued?

Hi,

I can't replicate the problem, all links and log on pages seem to be working. However, there is scheduled maintenance due to be done in the wee hours of the morning tomorrow which will make support unavailable for a few hours.

Hi Richard,

I tried it several times last evening and this morning without success. The link I used is below and the message on the page following.

https://na1.salesforce.com/sserv/login.jsp

"Data Not Available"

I've checked all my security setting and all seems okay and cookie handling is as suggested on your page.

Anything else I should try?

Still no-go Richard. Takes me to a blank page with "Data Not Available" on it.

Still not able to log onto the support page. I experimented by enter gibberish in the name/password widows and also left blank with the same results; opens to a blank page with "Data Not Available" in the upper left corner of the page.

I also lowered security levels, check that cookies would be accepted, and deleted history and cookies from browser, and still can't get through the "Data Not Available" page.

Same results using my iPhone on Safari browser.

Has anyone else had this problem and if solved, what did you do?

Same problem here in Detroit. Using IE 8.0.6001 on WXPsp3.

Same problem here in Vancouver. I tried both Opera 9.63 and IE 7.0.5730.13 on Win XP Pro SP2. Entering login data on the page at <http://www.gvox.com/contactus.php> and clicking "Login" takes me to <https://na1.salesforce.com/sserv/login.jsp>, which simply reports "Data Not Available".

The result is the same regardless of whether Java and/or javascript is enabled in Opera. I haven't messed with the security settings in IE because I'm not familiar with them and would prefer to keep it that way. I dislike that browser.

However, VBscripts and ActiveX are blocked at my firewall. Is that an issue?

Hi Rob,
I wouldn't change the security settings if you've gotten in before with them. I was sent my User ID and new password. I realized that I had been entering my screen name, panos, rather than my email. That solved it since I got in, and change the new password to my preference.

Hi Ron,
Send for a "reminder" of your User Name and Password and try this. I was using my screen name instead of my email address. The page didn't respond that I have used a wrong entry so I kept getting the "No Data Available" page. I therefore thought I was entering the correct information and that there must be something wrong with the site.

Hi Guys,

The company that provides use with our tech support system, recently changed our system to a different machine with a different IP address. Try logging on through our website support page first.

I'm sorry the system doesn't seem to tell you when you provided a bad email or password. I will look into that.

If all else fails, ask for a new password and we'll reset it.

Thanks, panos. That (and your response to ronpietrantoni) did the trick. Or so I thought. I had been using my screen name, and that leaves me wondering if I had been using an out-dated password.

I had no trouble getting in using IE7 without messing with any security settings using the "username" and password GVOX sent. Opera was a bit different: I got a screen advising me that javascript needed to be enabled for salesforce.com. Normally, that's no problem. Opera keeps track of what sites to allow javascript for, but to work that way, you need to get to (or otherwise identify) the specific subdomain for which javascript is to be enabled. Opera still showed GVOX's address in the "Location" bar. Fortunately, there are other ways to get to <na1.salesforce.com> and <na6.salesforce.com>; once I had done that, I was able to tell Opera to allow javascript for those domains. No further problems, once I got that sorted out. Or so I thought.

Bottom line: <na1.salesforce.com> and <na6.salesforce.com> don't need VBscript, ActiveX, or Java to let you into GVOX's customer support site. Just javascript. Or so I thought.

Then I went back in to <http://www.gvox.com/contactus.php> after checking the settings Opera has for both <na1.salesforce.com> and <na6.salesforce.com> just to be sure the above statement is correct: Java off; javascript on. But I couldn't get in. With either browser. With either the password GVOX sent me, or the one I changed it to on getting into <https://na6.salesforce.com/...>.

Now I'm confused. :? And beginning to wonder if GVOX needs to find another supplier for their support site. The way that salesforce.com is dealing with it leaves much to be desired.

But in the meanwhile: can anyone confirm whether the support site needs Java?

Good call - that was it exactly!

Matt and Co: it might be helpful if *your* site labeled the entry field as 'e-mail address', rather than 'user name'.
