export

Postby ursus » Tue Nov 02, 2010 6:48 pm

Long ago I did use an old version of Musictime. Now I want to migrate these file (200) to my new software. I have found it will accept XML files, but musictime doesn't provide for this export. I gather encore will, but I don't need encore for anything else, and spending $400 to software I will never use again seems ludicrous to me. Besides keep using my old musictime, is there an other way to export to xml? (or translate to musescore)

You probably know this already but an alternative would be to export to MIDI.

And under some circumstances, that may give you a better result anyway.

On one occasion, I found myself wanting to export an Encore file to Sibelius. Tried both Music XML and MIDI. MIDI worked better.

Even the MIDI export wasn't great, but it was good enough in that the cleanup was easier than re-entering the score from scratch.
