Change Text font

My text font is set at Times New Roman and I prefer Arial. Is it possible to change?

As far as I remember, each new text object picks up whatever font you had set for the last text object you created, doesn't it?

That's true as long as you remain in the same score that you've created and have set the font to your liking, but if you open up a new unused score, then the Text Tool font reverts to the programs default font of Times New Roman. This is so time consuming and has yet to be corrected. Other text like the score information and chords hold their setting to your preferences once set into new scores but the Text Tool does not.

It's been this way as far back as I can remember, (maybe about 12 years?). It would be nice if this bug could be fixed sometime, but I've lost hope that it will in our life-time;0)

Shouldn't the font chosen when no text selected, be the default for thed score? AFIK this worked ok.
Change your templates accordingly and your request is filled?

Ummm... Does MTD do templates? Or was that added to MTD after version 3.0?

I made my own "Template" with my preferred settings and fonts and then saved it to use as a startup score. The only setting that does not hold is the Text and Lyric Tools.

This was brought up last year sometime and the word from GVOX was that the next MusicTime upgrade would have the Template feature. It's a long time coming though.

Has anyone heard of when MTD 3.5.5 will be upgraded, if at all?

I have seen from previous discussions on the Forum regarding MTD that others also want to use fonts other than Times New Roman f.ex. Ariel.
I installed the newest full version of Music Time de Lux (i.e. 4.0.0 ) last week and I find the same problem with the text font, that you have the set the font you want to use every time you open a new score. From what I saw on the discussion on the Forum I thought this problem had been solved in the 4.0-version. Can someone in the software deparement enlighten us about this problem?

i guess i should also mention that the top 3 "dynamic" templates (single staves, piano, and piano and voice)
use settings stored in the windows registry (preferences file on mac) and you could go into those and edit them by hand. (although seems like just making your own template file is easier?)

Sorry, but have tried to make templates with other fonts than the TNR, then exporting them to the template storage, but no, it reverts to TNR when opening the template.
FYI: am using PC with XP and not Vista.

I tested that with Encore 5.0.2 Win b2.
I found a BUG with text elements only.
All Score Text Elements, Lyrics, Chords correctly remembered I did set their font to Arial.
But when I entered a Text Item first, it came up as Times New Roman.
Only after entering some lyrics (that came up in Arial, as desired), the next Text Item did get Arial font too..

that all sounds like it is working correctly...

there is no "text item default font" stored in score files. i can't remember off hand if MTD ever changes this setting (sounds like not?) but
there is a field in the registry (preference file on mac) that can be edited by hand in regedit (plist editor on mac)

eventually we want to store this not in registry/preferences but instead inside a "style template" that we hope to implement in next versions

OKey.
Will this bug be fixed with the first update of the MTD? And will there be a possibility to be able to choose the font you want and be able to save this and it stays that way forever??
