Cannot save default settings

Postby Brain » Wed Dec 21, 2011 4:03 pm

I just upgraded to Encore 5.0.2 from 4.5, and there is no Save Preferences on the Setup menu. For example, I like to tone down the brightness of the score by setting the background to like gray as I had it in 4.5. I can do this, but there is no way to save this as a default--even though the help explicitly indicates that it is under Settings -> Save Preferences.

Hi Brain.

There's no need to have preference at Encore 5xx. It's all automactic saving. If you had made your "lay out" and close encore, preference had automatic saved so the next time you open encore, you had the same as you had when you leaved Encore.

best regards

Not so. Every time I open Encore or create a new default score, it begins with a white background, even after I change it to gray before closing Encore.

To save these setting for a new score, you have to "export" a basic score as a template. To make it in the default score, use the last option in the export submenu "Current score settings to default score template".

Now, when selecting a color for the background, what gets colored are the margins, not the staves' background itself. Encore 4, but also MusicTime 402, do color as well the margins as the "staves background" ."

That was it! File -> Export -> Current Score Settings to Default Score Template

Thank you. I suppose I could have found that with a little poking around, but the help file was misleading.

Right you are.

The 'Help' file is ... If I wrote what I mean, I would be banned.

Please don't hesitate to ask us, the loyal Encore users at the forum - together we know a lot and are happy to help!

Merry Christmas!
