Encore 5 - Tempo window has dissappeared

Using Encore 5 on Windows XP -Experienced user.
Tempo window has dissappeared. Enabling it on Windows menu does not help.
When ticked - no tempo window can be found - anywhere...
What is happening here?

But I don't understand what you mean.
I do know what rubato means-as a musical term, of course, but not sure how the term applies to my problem

You might have a corrupted Encore preference file. Have you tried trashing it?

Mine reads:

Bottom 0x00000192 (402)
Left 0x000003de (990)
Open 0x00000000 (0)
Right 0x0000043f (1087)
Top 0x0000006d (109)
Which 0x00000000 (0)

I can also post a Reg file so you could import these datas easily.

Don't take my word for it because I know almost nothing about PCs but try doing a search on .cfg files and see what comes up.

There is some history of Windows XP (and other versions?) losing a window off the screen. It sounds like acote's solution offers the best approach.

As an alternative, if you have the capability, INCREASE the screen resolution to the MAXIMUM POSSIBLE. That might bring the missing TEMPO window into view so that it can be moved back into the regular Encore viewing area. Then, simply return the screen resolution back to its earlier value.

As a matter of interest, do you mean there is no default position for the tempo window when it's opened for the first time (as, for example, after installation of the software)?

...I mean that the preference setting doesn't override other settings that may or may not have been corrupted.( Of course, I'm thinking like a Mac user.)

Thanks to prompt reply from John at Gvox, A re-install did the trick.
I suspect it was something to do with changing screen rezs on my two monitor setup here
which I did for a short time just before tempo window vanished

The window is probably outside your view, due to desktop size limits, as geoffrey said:

So, change the screen resolution of your desktop (Temporarily) to the highest possible.

1. Right-click on an empty spot of the Windows desktop,
2. Choose Properties,
3. Choose Settings,
4. Set screen resolution,
5. Click OK
6. Choose to keep the settings
